I like to think I’d ransack the fridge, grab some water and make like hell for leather for the middle of nowhere, but realistically in 10 minutes I’m not getting far especially when the worst traffic jam in history is afoot.

Maybe I’d put the kettle on and spend my final minutes calling my loved ones, but then wouldn’t the phone networks be down?

What about filling up a backpack with water and food and jumping into a manhole? Granted, that’s not going to be of much help in the event of a direct hit, but perhaps I might be alright if the nuke explodes a couple of miles away.
